TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran Hojjatoleslam Ahmad Khatami on Friday warned the U.S. against its "ineffective and exhausted" threats against Iran.

"Americans should know that their threatening approach towards Iranian government and nation is exhausted and no longer effective and Iranian people pay no attention to that," said Khatami in his second sermon to Tehran Friday prayers worshipers.

Hojatoleslam Khatami said the U.S. has even lost its position in Latin America, which was once its back yard.

He said the U.S. statesmen should learn to use a proper literature to speak to the world.

He went on to say that the Iranian nation will give a crushing response to such empty claims in the huge February 11 rallies.

"Iranian nation will on the day show once again that the U.S. can not do a damn thing," he noted.
